Search engine optimization: Where has the page rank gone?

Google PageRank

PageRank is a value between 0 and 10 (0=bad, 10=very good), which in simple terms expresses the degree to which a website is networked or how well it is integrated into the web. PageRank is calculated using an algorithm that was patented by Google co-founder Larry Page back in 1997.

PageRank became publicly accessible in 2000, enabling website operators to determine their PageRank.

In the years that followed, SEO optimizers pounced on this PageRank. Everything was done to improve / increase it. As a rule, PageRank could be influenced by a high number of external links pointing to a website. The higher the "quality" of the linked page, the more important the backlink. The more good quality links point to a website, the higher the PageRank of the linked page.

The Google PageRank is no longer publicly visible

For some years now, the PageRank of a website has no longer been publicly visible.
However, this does not mean that PageRank no longer plays a role. PageRank should still play an important role. However, as before, other important SEO factors are added. In my opinion, "Content is King" still applies (this quote originally comes from an essay by Microsoft founder Bill Gates, which he wrote back in 1996).

Personally, I think the abolition of the public visibility of PageRank is positive, especially as there is more to a good positioning of a website in the search engines than just a high PageRank. Overall, all website operators should focus less on PageRank and more on producing useful content.
